Open only to NHS, healthcare and social care staff, Hull NHS Choir gives you chance to unwind and make new friends with colleagues who "get it".
We learn by ear, so you'll get access to practice tracks to listen to at home or in the car. No prior singing experience necessary and certainly no auditions!
Singing is proven to reduce stress, enhance lung function, improve memory, boost confidence, and help with pain relief. As far as your health and wellbeing go, it's a winner!
It's very rare that we make it through five minutes of a rehearsal without laughing. It's a joy to be together (especially now we're back to face to face rehearsals, after two years of Zoom!) and we have such a fun time together. It's never too serious, even when we're learning a difficult song!
Rehearsals are usually on Saturdays from 11am-2.30pm and at the moment, we're rehearsing in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, once or twice a month. Everyone brings food and drinks to share, and we have the best time.
Our fabulous musical director Melissa Moore has been with us since January 2018 and we love her to bits. She knows exactly how to handle us!
